The side of this building looks like a layered wall of bamboo shoots in bold green colours. It creates a very inorganic feel using organic colours. The various uses of line make this image have a sense of direction making one’s focus move around the image with more flow.
The elongated streaks of red extending from the bright core in the bottom-right corner look like the skeletal structure of a hand, or even the wing of a bird captured in x-ray form, yet in the colour red. I like the sharp contrast between the black background and the red foreground. This is a striking image as the colour is bold and stands out to the eye.
The rustic wooden texture in this photo radiates much character. There is a lot of line, direction and flow within this image, helping the eye to follow the structure of the image. This image gives the appearance of an old American type of farm barn. I like the wood grain and how it all ties together with its different shades of brown, contrasted with the confronting black, drawing out all shape and texture.
The symmetry present in this image makes it sound in composition, therefore easy on the eye. The blending of colours are almost hypnotising when you follow the image around the circle. One would not believe that something so simple could be so interesting.
The long curved lines of blending colours look like shredded ribbon, moving gently through the waters of the depth of the ocean, struck by moonlight and reflected upon by the colours of the coral that may be around it. This makes it look very interesting and appealing to the imagination, almost magical in appearance.
The waviness of the lines in this image make the eye move through the image like a maze. The tiles look like cut squares of moss, piled neatly row by row, creating a tidy, conformed look to the image. The different shades of green work together in different areas of the image creating a 3 dimensional look.
The layers of colour within a similar shaded colour palette of the old ship’s hull make a good contrast against the other elements of the image. The boat looks out of place which brings interest to it, being the main focal point of the image. The layered sky, blending down from a darker blue to a lighter shade of blue creates the perfect background to the multi layers of colour on the boat.
I like the explosion of colours in this image. The soft shades look like watercolour paints on a canvas. The way that the colours blend with each other makes it easy to look at, appearing as calming to the eye. The water looks almost like solid ground, like the red sands of a desert, softened in texture by the winds. The water puddle on the right looks like the mirage one would see while venturing across the desert sands.
